What is the purpose of making a hovercraft for a science fair? What is proven with it?

Science fair is in 2 weeks approx. and my project is a hovercraft. I have everything on how to do it and the materials I need but I’m not sure what is its purpose. When you make an experiment about pesticides you prove how they work if they damage the environment, etc. How is a hovercraft useful? What could be the hypothesis?

hovercraft is indication of use of technology …to travel on road …and sea also …..both capabilities ….mostly used in military ….navy

Hovercraft have great potential for transportation. But they have limitations mostly dictated by safety. Perhaps you could propose some new feature (like computerized contact avoidance) that would make them a more viable device.

You could pick among several different hypotheses. Some examples:

Will more holes in the bottom of the hovercraft make it float higher off the ground?

Will a larger engine make the hovercraft float higher off the ground?

Will lighter materials make the hovercraft float higher off the ground?

The answer to the last two are easy (probably yes) but you get the idea. You can come up with other hypotheses that might be better.
