What is a good highschool science fair project?

What would be a good high school science fair project? Difficulty isn’t really a problem, neither is price. I am into engineering and anything that has to do with electricity would be great. My science teacher said that this experiment could not be pointless and I need to learn something from it. Please help.

    create a mineature windmill..
like so pepple can see how it works,…

    or a vending machine..
    hahaha

    idk

Make your own battery. Go online and look for Baghdad Battery and there should be something on how to make it. It’s way cool!

  6. Prodigy says:

Make a complex electrical power circuit. That’s what I did back in 4th grade.

As long as it’s not this:

Which freezes faster: warm water or cold water?

Last year a kid ACTUALLY did that!

    just go onto http://www.sciencebuddies.org

you can take a quiz on what you like and it will match you up with tons of ideal projects for you! thats how im doing mine

You could super cool liquid water below it’s freezing point while keeping it a liquid. I did this in school once. You just put a small cup of distilled water in a larger bowl of ice water and salt. The salty ice water will be able to reach temperatures below freezing because of the salt. It will then cool the pure distilled water. Because the distilled water has no impurities it will not start to freez untill well below it’s freezing point. But if you drop a small piece of ice and sometimes even just touching the water the distilled water will quickly freeze before everyone’s eyes.
All you need is Tap water, two bowls/cups/thermometer/tap water/distilled water/ice/salt Very cheap and easy! Everyone will want to see this happen when you do the experiment! This is a website I found that demonstrates exactly how to do it.

You know what could be cool is if you created a Christmas light show much like the one shown here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmgf60CI_ks . I think the guy used a computer to control it, but you could do the same with a microcontroller and a bunch of LEDs on perhaps a model house. It would use the principles of computer programming and electrical engineering to do. I’ve been thinking of a small scale Christmas decoration that’s a standalone decoration that does all sorts of crazy stuff. That’s not too hard to do with relays and a 555 chip.
