My friend and I are doing our science fair experiment on what solid and liquid combination can set off the highest eruption. We were thinking of using soda and Mentos for one, vinegar and baking soda for another, but we can’t find another combination that will create a reaction, so we’d like some suggestions. Also, what would we use for our control? Water by itself?

Cool … I Know this one … Start with a large tall bowl … glass or tin( if you use glass you can put red Xmas lights under the glass bowl… for effect) … paper mache all around it( on a board ) … at time of presentation( don’t forget to turn on the lights if your using a glass bowl )… put water in the bowl & then dry ice… its cool
( BE CAREFUL handling the dry ice … it will burn… use a glove when putting it in the water & it only takes a little piece of about the size of an ice cube)… takes bout 24 hours for paper mache drys … good luck
