How can I expose plants to exhaust?

Its for my science fair experiment, I’m testing the effects of air pollution on plants. I’m using exhaust as the pollutant. How can I expose the plants to it? Without looking like a moron…

The first thing that came to mind is running your car in the garage, but since that’s also a suicide method, I think that might not be a great plan. D:

My next idea was to get a large clear plastic bag, put it over the exhaust pipe (make sure it’s not hot first). Then turn the car on briefly to fill it up*. After the the trapped exhaust cools, stick a plant in there, top it off with plain air and close it.

To make it a fair test, put another plant in a bag with just air for an equal amount of time.
