The first thing that came to mind is running your car in the garage, but since that’s also a suicide method, I think that might not be a great plan. D:
My next idea was to get a large clear plastic bag, put it over the exhaust pipe (make sure it’s not hot first). Then turn the car on briefly to fill it up*. After the the trapped exhaust cools, stick a plant in there, top it off with plain air and close it.
To make it a fair test, put another plant in a bag with just air for an equal amount of time.
